Lymphoedema Management

Gentle, evidence-based lymphatic drainage tailored to your individual needs. Early and ongoing management is key to maintaining comfort, mobility, and quality of life. I have been trained in FG-MLD by the Lymphoedema Training Academy, and registered with MLD UK and the Lymphoedema Support Network, so rest assured you are in safe hands.
Lymphoedema management is usually delivered in two stages. The first stage focuses on reducing swelling and improving the condition of the affected area, while the second stage focuses on maintaining the improvements achieved and helping to prevent the swelling from returning.
Stage One: Intensive Treatment
The first stage of treatment is often more intensive, with appointments scheduled closer together. Ideally 2-3 sessions per week for several weeks. The frequency and duration of treatment will be tailored to you and reviewed as your swelling responds. The aim of this stage is to achieve the best possible reduction in swelling and establish a strong foundation for ongoing management. It is advised to bring your compression garments with you to your appointment, as these will help to maintain the fluid reduction post MLD treatment. If you do not currently have compression, options will be given to you at your first appointment.
Stage Two: Maintenance
Once your swelling is reduced and more stable, appointments are gradually spaced further apart. The focus then shifts to maintaining your progress and supporting you with long-term self-management, including compression, exercise, skincare and regular reviews when needed.
A limited number of reduced cost appointments for clients experiencing financial hardship or receiving benefits are offered. Availability is limited and must be booked in advance. Please contact Carly directly before booking an appointment.

Supportive Treatment Add-Ons
For clients living with lymphoedema, supportive therapies can help to maximise the benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and provide ongoing support between appointments.
Kinesiology Taping may encourage continued lymphatic drainage between sessions, help manage swelling, and provide gentle support to areas which are hard to manage with compression garments.
Please note: A patch test is required at least 24 hours before your appointment to ensure your skin tolerates the adhesive.
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) utilises a combination of laser, pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF), and infrared light. may help reduce inflammation, support tissue health, and encourage the body's natural healing processes. When used alongside MLD as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, these therapies can help optimise lymphatic function and support the long-term management of lymphoedema. Your treatment will always be tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Every treatment is individually assessed to ensure these supportive add-ons are appropriate for your clinical needs. If you would like to include any of these therapies as part of your treatment, simply select the relevant add-on(s) before checkout. I will contact you prior to your appointment to discuss your suitability and, if required, arrange a patch test for kinesiology taping.
